Technology Has Changed the TV Stand

24 April 2008

black tv standTV stands, audio racks, and entertainment centers have evolved with the changes in television technology. The days when televisions were considered a stand alone piece of furniture are long gone. Compared to the TV sets built just a few years ago, modern television sets are very different. The physical enclosure has changed, just as technological advances in television design have enhanced picture quality

Televisions became commercially available in the nineteen forties and the basic technology has revolved around the picture tube. The picture tube is a large cathode ray tube with a series of electron guns in rear of the tube. The electron guns shoot electrons at the front of the tube, which is coated with a fluorescent material. The fluorescent material causes the electrons to diffuse, the fluorescent material glows and through a series of signal modulations, a visible image can be seen.

An older CRT television that measures twenty six inches diagonally may be as deep as twenty four inches. Compare that to a new high definition television, which might only seven or eight inches deep.

Want to enhance your Flat Panel TV with Quality Sound?

21 March 2008

flat panel soundSo you’ve already shelled out big bucks for that flat panel TV, but what about sound?  Stereo sound enhances television and movies by immersing you in the on-screen action, surrounding you in atmospheric music and sound effects.  Get the most out of your plasma or LCD flat screen purchase by investing in a quality sound system.

Basic Speaker Setup

Not every home theater needs an expensive, state-of-the-art surround sound system.  Depending on your room size and budget, you may find that a simple two-speaker setup is all you need to enhance your TV-watching experience with stereophonic sound.  A two-speaker setup is best positioned in front of the listener, preferably with one speaker placed on each side of the TV.  Different audio channels produce different types of sound, which vary by manufacturer.  Testing a pair of speaker’s sound quality in store before buying is recommended.

The History Behind The Plasma TV

08 March 2008

plasma tvWhen considering the history of plasma television screens, you have to understand the history that is behind this remarkable invention. The first plasma screen television has come quite a long way. However, the reason for the invention was not simply to provide men with amazing sports viewing.

The plasma TV developed as a result of the computer generation. It is incredible that this based viewing device is not a new idea. It has been around for quite some time. Perhaps a bit of a history lesson is in order for you to understand how this application came to be available for the masses.

It all began in 1964 at the University of Illinois. At this time, computer monitors were simple televisions. You have to realize that the televisions at this time were cathode ray tubes. They had to continuously refresh themselves in order to display correctly. juegos seguros portaljuego casino portales webganancias casinos paginas internetmaquina tragaperras paginas webvideo poker internetjuegos casino descargarussian roulettelos mejores casinos en lineafree blackjackcasino madrid comunidad madridpremio portalapuestas casinoganar en ruleta, ganar ruleta, sistema ganar ruletajueces casinosganancias casinosjugar apostar onlinejugar interactivo internethotels casinojugar online a la ruletajugar apostar pagina webvideo poker spielenbesten casino onlinecasino downloadroulette pc spielcasino online bonus ohne einzahlungcasino tropezvideo poker strategieslotmachines spielencasino automaten spielerealistisches online kasinolotto spielenonline casino einzahlungslotmachines online spielencasino games pro 2007roulette spiel downloadonline spiel automatkasino spielmultispieler spielecasino games deonline gewinnencasino online mit bonuskasino spielenspiel automat, online spiel automat, spielautomatenechtes kasinoonline kugel f?r roulette, online roulette, roulette online spielengluck spiele onlinedeutsches online casinoonline spiel automateninternet online casinocasino spiele kostenlos spielen

Television - Understanding the Liquid Crystal Display Technology

05 March 2008

samsung lcd tvThe Televisions that use Liquid Crystal Display for an improved image quality are termed as the LCD Televisions. This is one of the latest inventions of technologies in TV and computer monitors. LCD televisions are easy on the eye and the intensity of strain to the eye balls is greatly reduced. Thus they make prolonged viewing much more comfortable and stress free. In common parlance it can be said that there is a liquid in the screen and we see the image on the liquid screen.

Broadly, this modern technology uses thin film transistors to monitor voltages to the individualized pixels. Here the transistors constantly regulate voltage to three liquid crystal sub pixels of red, green and blue, which in turn control light dispersion through the wafer thin panel. But to be precise, LCD technology is based on the utilization of specified polarized light.

Tips to Buying a Slim Tv

08 February 2008

slim tvTelevision technology for the past 75 years has been based on the technology of CRT or cathode-ray-tube. In it there are guns that fire beams of electrons, which are particles that are negatively charged inside a tube, made of glass. These electrons cause excitement in phosphor atoms located at the screen end or the end of the tube that is wide. As a result the phosphor atoms gets lighted up. The phosphor coating being lighted up on different areas with various colours with dissimilar intensities produces the image on the screen.

Samsung LNT4681 Is A Beauty

12 January 2008

Samsung LNT4681Passed by my local Bestbuy and checked out one of the latest offerings from Samsung. I must admit that I always was impressed by the quality of Samsung’s picture and this offering is truly a jaw dropper. Exceptional clarity and sharpness and well worth checking out. It may be a bit pricey, but you do get what you pay for.

Full HD 1080p offers up to twice the amount of visual detail as other high definition displays, and up to 6 times the amount of visual information of standard definition television for a screen resolution that has unprecedented detail and razor sharp lines. Combine that with Samsung-exclusive technology such as the Wide Colour Enhancer, LED Scanning and Natural Black Panel technology, you get incredibly brilliant and expressive colour, finely detailed dark edges, automatic brightness control and reduced blur in fast-moving scenes for an overall picture that is as realistic as possible.

The Technology In A LCD Monitor

09 January 2008

LCD TVLiquid Crystal display or LCD monitor is a thin and flat device for display. It is made by large number of color or monochromatic pixels which are arrayed in way of a light source or a reflector. It uses very small amount of electric power and hence is used often in battery powered electronic devices. The technology used is very much dissimilar to CRT technology which is used by many desktop monitors. It was used only on notebook computers for a very long time. Only recently they have been offered as an alternative to CRT monitors. They take up very less desk space and are much lighter than the CRT monitors. But they are also quite expensive.

Refurbished LCD TV: The Affordable HDTV Solution

01 November 2007

 By: Harry J. Andersohn

refurbished lcd tvEver since I saved nearly $2000 off the manufacturer’s suggested retail price of my refurbished Sharp LCD HDTV, I’ve wondered why anybody would pay full price for a set that looks just the same as a brand new one. Is it because they think it’s easier to get in their car and drive all over town comparing inventory and prices in different stores? I found mine, bought it and had it delivered, and never had to leave the house! I don’t know about you, but for me it just doesn’t get any easier than that.

Do they think they’re somehow settling for lesser quality with a refurbished TV? It’s not like buying a used set, where you really don’t know what you’re getting. Refurbished TVs go through even more rigorous testing than the new sets. After the initial test, the set is cleaned and they make sure all the accessories and manuals are there. Then another test is done, called a “burn test.” The TV is left running for several days in a row to determine if there are any performance problems. If the set passes all the tests, it’s packed in a new factory carton; a new seal is attached and only then is it sent off to be distributed to the public.

Plasma TV & Plasma TV Accessories

25 October 2007

 By: Anthony J Smith

plasma tvYou’ve finally decided to purchase a plasma TV. You are so hooked on to this idea that you actually dream of viewing all of your favorite TV programs on the new Plasma TV with its sharp, clarity picture resolution. How would you find a Plasma TV that works best for your needs and budget?

First, you should decide the dimensions of the television monitor that you want to buy. Note that Plasma TVs start with 32in. and then go up to 63in. The most popular sizes include 32in., 42in., 50in. and 61in. It would be a good idea to measure the space where you plan to put your TV. This way, you will get a clear idea about what size to opt for. Remember another point; the majority of Plasma TVs come with detachable speakers. This means that you should keep some extra space on either side of the space the screen will be so that the speakers can be easily and comfortably allocated.
