Technology Has Changed the TV Stand
24 April 2008
TV stands, audio racks, and entertainment centers have evolved with the changes in television technology. The days when televisions were considered a stand alone piece of furniture are long gone. Compared to the TV sets built just a few years ago, modern television sets are very different. The physical enclosure has changed, just as technological advances in television design have enhanced picture quality
Televisions became commercially available in the nineteen forties and the basic technology has revolved around the picture tube. The picture tube is a large cathode ray tube with a series of electron guns in rear of the tube. The electron guns shoot electrons at the front of the tube, which is coated with a fluorescent material. The fluorescent material causes the electrons to diffuse, the fluorescent material glows and through a series of signal modulations, a visible image can be seen.
компютри втора употребаTV sets today are much larger than older cathode ray tube sets. The difference is that the new high definition TV sets are no where near as deep. An older CRT television that measures twenty six inches diagonally may be as deep as twenty four inches. Compare that to a new high definition television, which might only seven or eight inches deep.

They are the present and the future of the HDTV market: LCD and plasma televisions share some features which are all focused on providing the best images ever and letting people experience with a sort of “real life” environment while they’re at home sitting on the couch watching television. Any difference between LCD and plasma is not that huge, since both provide the best resolutions and best image adaptation depending on the light and other factors.
So you’ve already shelled out big bucks for that flat panel TV, but what about sound? Stereo sound enhances television and movies by immersing you in the on-screen action, surrounding you in atmospheric music and sound effects. Get the most out of your plasma or LCD flat screen purchase by investing in a quality sound system.
When considering the history of plasma television screens, you have to understand the history that is behind this remarkable invention. The first plasma screen television has come quite a long way. However, the reason for the invention was not simply to provide men with amazing sports viewing.
The Televisions that use Liquid Crystal Display for an improved image quality are termed as the LCD Televisions. This is one of the latest inventions of technologies in TV and computer monitors. LCD televisions are easy on the eye and the intensity of strain to the eye balls is greatly reduced. Thus they make prolonged viewing much more comfortable and stress free. In common parlance it can be said that there is a liquid in the screen and we see the image on the liquid screen.
Television technology for the past 75 years has been based on the technology of CRT or cathode-ray-tube. In it there are guns that fire beams of electrons, which are particles that are negatively charged inside a tube, made of glass. These electrons cause excitement in phosphor atoms located at the screen end or the end of the tube that is wide. As a result the phosphor atoms gets lighted up. The phosphor coating being lighted up on different areas with various colours with dissimilar intensities produces the image on the screen.
Passed by my local Bestbuy and checked out one of the latest offerings from Samsung. I must admit that I always was impressed by the quality of Samsung’s picture and this offering is truly a jaw dropper. Exceptional clarity and sharpness and well worth checking out. It may be a bit pricey, but you do get what you pay for.
Liquid Crystal display or LCD monitor is a thin and flat device for display. It is made by large number of color or monochromatic pixels which are arrayed in way of a light source or a reflector. It uses very small amount of electric power and hence is used often in battery powered electronic devices. The technology used is very much dissimilar to CRT technology which is used by many desktop monitors. It was used only on notebook computers for a very long time. Only recently they have been offered as an alternative to CRT monitors. They take up very less desk space and are much lighter than the CRT monitors. But they are also quite expensive.
Ever since I saved nearly $2000 off the manufacturer’s suggested retail price of my refurbished Sharp LCD HDTV, I’ve wondered why anybody would pay full price for a set that looks just the same as a brand new one. Is it because they think it’s easier to get in their car and drive all over town comparing inventory and prices in different stores? I found mine, bought it and had it delivered, and never had to leave the house! I don’t know about you, but for me it just doesn’t get any easier than that.
You’ve finally decided to purchase a plasma TV. You are so hooked on to this idea that you actually dream of viewing all of your favorite TV programs on the new Plasma TV with its sharp, clarity picture resolution. How would you find a Plasma TV that works best for your needs and budget?
